On Sunday, October 20th at the Fafali STEM & Literacy lab, the Fafali Organization held an inspiring Volunteer Engagement Session that brought together volunteers from all our programs, all driven by a shared commitment to the children and communities we serve. With a fantastic turnout of 24 volunteers from projects across our spectrum—STEM, Dzidefo Girls’ Club, Golf & Goal, literacy initiatives, and more—the day was a wonderful blend of reflection, learning, and planning for the future.

Strengthening Bonds and Creating Dialogue
The event opened with warm welcomes and an atmosphere brimming with energy. It quickly became clear that the day was not just about discussing logistics or updates but also about truly connecting as a community. Each volunteer brings a unique perspective and dedication, and hearing their voices and stories reminded us of the collective heart that drives our mission forward.

Chief Operating Officer (COO)Selase Atsriku led an in-depth presentation that revisited Fafali’s mission and vision, offering volunteers a renewed understanding of why their work matters so profoundly. Volunteers also received updates on ongoing projects, recent achievements, and upcoming initiatives, sparking anticipation and excitement for what’s next.

An Open Discussion with Powerful Insights
The core of the session was an open forum where volunteers were invited to share their thoughts and experiences. This led to a series of enriching conversations. Volunteers spoke passionately about their roles, offering insight into what’s been working well and where we might grow to provide even more impactful support to the children.

Randy, the head of our Sports Programs shared:
“Working with Fafali has been one of the most fulfilling experiences of my life. Sessions like these remind us that we’re part of something greater, a movement to empower young minds and bring positive change. It was inspiring to hear everyone’s ideas and realize we all have the same goal.”

Another volunteer, Breana added,
“I love that Fafali truly values our feedback and encourages us to be part of the process. It’s clear that Fafali isn’t just about helping the kids – it’s about building a supportive network for everyone involved. We’re always learning and growing together.”

Reflecting on Impact and Commitment
As we shared achievements, it was impossible not to feel pride in how far the Fafali Organization has come. Volunteers who participated in the Girls’ Club Project, STEM workshops, and sports initiatives spoke about the joy of watching kids light up as they discover new skills, achieve goals, and build confidence.

One of our volunteers from the Dzidefo Girls’ Club Project, Elizabeth Aboagye, shared, “It’s powerful to see the girls gain confidence through the program. I think Fafali’s approach, which combines both educational support and emotional encouragement, is exactly what makes the difference.”

Our founder, Raymond Amezado, expressed immense gratitude for the commitment of each volunteer, sharing a heartfelt message:
“At Fafali, our volunteers are the very heartbeat of our mission. This engagement session reinforced for me that it’s not just about providing support—it’s about building a community. Moving Forward Together
The session concluded with a focus on the road ahead. Volunteers were invited to think about the ways they might become even more involved, whether through leadership roles, facilitating new workshops, or mentoring younger volunteers. The passion in the room was palpable, and the dedication of our volunteers shone brightly.

The session ended on a high note, with volunteers buzzing with ideas and optimism. Plans were made, connections were strengthened, and the spirit of collaboration was renewed. As we move forward, we are filled with a renewed sense of purpose, knowing that with such dedicated individuals by our side, Fafali’s future—and the future of every child we reach—is bright.
